[시사뷰타임즈] 사이베리아 (시베리아) 벡터 본부의 과학자들이, 지난해 12월, 영국 코로나-19 바이러스 변종을 모체에서 분리-고립시켜 놓은 후에, 사상 최초로 이 변종을 촬영했다. 이 변종은 영국 수상 보리스 좐슨이 지난 달에 처음으로 공표했던 것이었다.

라셔 (러시아) 보건 감시기구인 로스포트레브나드조르에 따르면, 이 사진은 코로나바이러스의 구조적 특징 및 여러 세포 속에 현현 (주: 顯顯; 나타나는 것) 을 포함하여 현재 진행 중인 코로나바이러스 자체 연구의 일환으로 현미경 밑에 있는 것을 촬용한 것이라고 한다.

이 연구는 PCR (주: 종합효소연쇄반응; Polymerase chain reaction) 이 믿음직하게 영국 변종을 탐지했고 또한 이 돌연변이는 본부의 에피백코로나 (EpiVacCorona) 공식의 효과성을 바꾸지는 못한다고 밝혔다. 가말레파의 스푸트닉 V 백신에 이어 에피백코로나는 라셔에 두 번째로 등록된 코로나-19 백신이었다.

1월10알, 로스포트레브나드조르 대표 안나 포포바는 이 영국형 돌연변이는, 한 여행객이 영국에서 라셔에 온 뒤, 탐지됐었던 것이라고 밝혔다. 지난해 11월에서 12월22일 사이의 기간에 영국에서 라셔로 날아온 사람들의 숫자는 7천명을 넘겼다.

안나는 “이 변종은 증세를 느꼈었지만 현재는 양호하다고 느끼는 딱 한사람에게서만 발견됐었다. 그는 아무런 증세도 보이지 않았다.” 고 라셔-1 TV 방송국에 말했다.

12월22일, 라셔는 영국 정부의 공표 이후, 영국과의 모든 교통편을 중단했다.

Scientists at Siberia’s Vector Center have photographed the British Covid-19 strain for the first time, after isolating it from a patient in December. The variant was first announced by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson last month.

 

According to Rospotrebnadzor, the country’s health watchdog, the photo was taken under a microscope as part of an ongoing study into coronavirus, “including its structural features and manifestations in cell cultures.”

 

The research revealed that PCR tests reliably detect the British strain and also confirmed that the mutation doesn’t change the effectiveness of the center’s EpiVacCorona formula. After Gamaleya’s Sputnik V, EpiVacCorona was the second Covid-19 vaccine registered in Russia.

 

On January 10, Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova revealed that the British mutation had been detected in Russia after a traveler arrived from the UK. More than 7,000 people flew from Britain to Russia in the period from late November to December 22.

 

“It was found in only one person who felt and is now feeling well. He had no symptoms,” she told TV channel Russia-1.

 

On December 22, following the British government’s announcement, Russia suspended air traffic with the United Kingdom.
